The unconventional passengers were found both riding shotgun and scattered across the floorboard of the vehicle. According to the police department's Facebook post, the driver reacted nonchalantly when asked to turn off his vehicle, refusing and stating his intention to continue inhaling from his balloon, colloquially known as nozzing it.
The driver, who treated the officers as if they were the ones imposing upon him, rolled up his window after refilling his balloon as if he were in the middle of an inconsequential routine. The situation escalated when he decided to drive away, prompting officers to give chase. The pursuit included a brief and unusual detour onto a sidewalk. Valentin Barrios, identified as the driver from Los Angeles, eventually decided to stop and, without further incident, was taken into custody by the police officers.
The search of the vehicle, which Barrios had borrowed from a friend, revealed the presence of cocaine amongst the party supplies. After his arrest, when questioned why he hadn't stopped sooner, Barrios's reason was akin to someone wanting to savor a drink, telling the officers he wanted to finish his tank like it was a pumpkin spice latte. Barrios is now facing several charges, details of which were outlined in the police report. The arrest was made without any reported injuries or damage.
