A Macomb County man, identified as Frederik Stolaj, age 21, is slated to stand trial after authorities found child pornography on his phone during an investigation of a March shooting at a Troy hospital. During the probe of a shooting at the Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital, police happened to quickly expand their investigation to include friends and acquaintances of the alleged shooter, Robert Paljusevic. Through this process, Stolaj's phone was subject to a search warrant, which led to the revelation of the illegal content. This incident sufficiently resonated with the Macomb County authorities, prompting Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido to remark, "Child exploitation is among the most serious crimes we prosecute," as detailed in a report by The Detroit News.
Stolaj's arraignment has been scheduled for September 29, and he has been released on a $100,000 cash bond with the condition that he must wear a GPS tether and avoid any contact with individuals under 18 years of age.
