
The Metropolitan Police Department announced an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting on March 18 in Southeast D.C. Officers responded to the 3000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE, where they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
On Wednesday, police arrested 31-year-old Andre Townsend from Upper Marlboro, MD, over six months after the fatal shooting of 39-year-old Derrick Howard of Baltimore, MD. Howard was found dead from gunshot wounds around 11:00 a.m. Townsend has been charged with Second-Degree Murder While Armed, following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.
The Metropolitan Police Department reported that Townsend has been arrested in connection with the case CCN: 25038941. He now faces legal proceedings as the investigation continues. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to support the case, while the community mourns Howard's untimely death.
