Tragedy struck early this morning in North Memphis, as a man was fatally shot on Eldridge Avenue. Action News 5 reported that the Memphis Police Department responded to the incident at 6:27 am, where they found the male victim, already dead from his wounds. According to the Memphis Police, the suspect was described as wearing a red hoodie and tan pants.
In a tragic repeat of violence, FOX13 Memphis reported on the same day that officers were dispatched just before 6:30 a.m. to the Hyde Park area, close to the initial shooting scene. Details are still emerging, but what is painfully clear is the community's need to quickly come together in order to try and make sense of such senseless violence.
Confirming the sobering details of the morning's events, WREG added that the shooting was called in at 6:24 a.m. on the 2300 block of Eldridge Avenue. With the suspect still at large, MPD is currently conducting an ongoing investigation. The public has been urged to come forward with any information that could be conducive to the quick apprehension of the suspect.
