
Tragedy struck Chicago's West Side in the early hours of Sunday when a 33-year-old man was fatally shot while standing outside near a vehicle. FOX 32 Chicago reports that the incident occurred in the 1200 block of S. Farrar Drive in North Lawndale, with the Chicago Police Department responding to the scene at approximately 12:30 a.m.
The unnamed victim was ambushed with gunfire from an undetermined direction, sustaining five gunshot wounds before being rushed in critical condition to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, the CBS News Chicago article detailed that evidence, including bullet casings and discarded bottles of alcoho,l were found at the location, which is situated towards the northern end of Douglass Park.
No arrests have been made in connection with the homicide, and as of now, no suspect description is available. Area detectives are diligently working the case, looking into leads and gathering evidence in hopes of bringing the perpetrators to justice.
