Early Sunday morning, a confrontation in Los Angeles' Jefferson Park led to an officer-involved shooting, leaving one man hospitalized. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the event occurred near Jefferson Boulevard and Ninth Avenue.

KTLA reports that officers were already present in the area when they came upon a man holding a firearm. Shots were fired between the man and the officers, resulting in the man being struck, but he managed to escape on foot. He was apprehended about two blocks away after a brief chase, near 7th Avenue. No officers were injured during the incident.
The suspect, currently unidentified beyond being a male, was taken to a local hospital. There, he was listed in stable condition, as per KTLA. As of the latest updates, investigators on the scene had recovered a firearm believed to belong to the suspect.
