A late-night shooting in Jacksonville’s Edgewood area left one man in critical condition. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported the incident occurred yesterday around 10 p.m. after officers received a call about a shooting on the 500 block of Cassat Avenue, just north of I-10, according to News4Jax.
Law enforcement found a man with a gunshot wound to the head and transported him to a local hospital. Sgt. Scott with JSO told First Coast News that the victim was inside his vehicle during the shooting, which took place in the 200 block of Edgewood Avenue South. A passenger in the car drove away from the scene and called for help.
Action News Jax reports that authorities have not identified the shooter and no description has been released. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made. The victim remains hospitalized.
