A man was shot near a soccer complex in the Aldine area of Houston, authorities said. The incident took place in the 1100 block of Hill Road, near the Hardy Toll Road, where families had gathered to watch soccer games.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said a 33-year-old man was taken to the hospital in fair condition after being shot in Harris County. FOX 26 Houston reports that the man may have been hit by stray bullets from people target shooting in a nearby wooded area. The incident came to light when a soccer player told Deputy Shriver about possible gunfire near the fields.
Deputy Shriver evacuated the soccer fields after hearing gunfire. Authorities said three people were detained in connection with the incident, and Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated that possible charges have not yet been determined, according to KHOU.
