A 25-year-old man was injured in a shooting on the 5500 block of Mimika Avenue in Walnut Park East, St. Louis, on Wednesday shortly after 6:15 p.m.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department report, the victim was standing outside when he was struck by gunfire and sustained a wound to his back. He was able to speak with officers at the scene. Emergency Medical Services transported him to a hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
Police are investigating the incident, checking for witnesses and surveillance footage. No suspects have been identified, and the motive for the shooting has not been determined. The investigation is ongoing.
