Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood became the scene of a violent confrontation when an argument over a public bench escalated into a stabbing late last night. According to KIRO 7, Seattle Police Department (SPD) patrol officers found a 31-year-old man conscious but seriously injured with a stab wound to the abdomen near Broadway East and East John Street, around midnight. The injured was swiftly taken to Harborview Medical Center and is reported to be in serious condition.
Further details emerged from KING 5, revealing that the stabbing occurred following a dispute involving the bench sitting across from Capitol Hill's Dick's Drive-In. The suspect, during the altercation, used what was described as a "six-inch kitchen knife" to inflict the wound. Police have stressed the seriousness of this incident and currently consider the suspect, who fled before they arrived, to be dangerous.
The assailant is yet to be apprehended and is described as a white male in his 50s, with shoulder-length curly hair, according to KOMO News. He was last seen wearing a green and white sweater and dark pants. Authorities are soliciting help from the public, urging anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts to call 911 or the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
