Yesterday's midday tranquility in Hanover was pierced by the sound of gunfire as a man fell victim to a contact shooting. Around 12:30 p.m., Western District officers were dispatched to Fredericksburg Road and Taylor's Hill Lane following reports of the incident.
According to the Anne Arundel County Press release, the adult male victim, found inside his vehicle with gunshot wounds, was promptly aided by the officers and subsequently rushed to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.
The ongoing investigation into the shooting suggests that the victim was leaving his home when an unidentified assailant confronted and shot him in his vehicle before absconding. While the authorities work to piece together the details, the nature of the attack suggests that the perpetrator specifically targeted the injured man. In their appeal to the public for assistance, officials are urging anyone with insights into the shooting to contact the Western District's Criminal Investigation Division at 410-222-4731; and, for those seeking anonymity, there is an option to reach out to the Tipline at 410-222-4700.
