The Metropolitan Police Department is continuing its search for the third suspect in the June 30 fatal shooting of congressional intern Eric Tarpinian-Jachym in Northwest D.C. Authorities have identified the suspect as 18-year-old Naqwan Antonio Lucas, who is wanted on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant for first-degree murder while armed (premeditated). Tarpinian-Jachym, a 21-year-old intern from Granby, Massachusetts, was killed near Mount Vernon Square.
Police have released new images of Lucas and are asking the public for help locating him. Two other people — a woman and a 16-year-old boy — were also injured during the shooting. According to WTOP, a $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
Earlier this month, Kelvin Thomas Jr. and Jailen Lucas, both 17, were arrested and charged as adults with first-degree murder while armed (premeditated), according to the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, as reported by Turnto10.
The DC Police, along with the FBI and U.S. Marshals, are urging anyone with information on Lucas’s whereabouts to avoid approaching him and instead contact authorities by calling (202) 727-9099 or texting 50411.
