Maui County's volunteer leaders and managers have a unique opportunity to enhance their skills at an upcoming workshop, according to a recent announcement by HandsOn Maui, the County of Maui Volunteer Center. The event, slated for October 1 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Courtyard by Marriott Maui Kahului Airport aims to provide critical training for those at the helm of nonprofit organizations, honing their ability to inspire and effectively communicate with their volunteers.
Alt Kagesa, a veteran facilitator with a deep resume that includes over three decades of instructing, will lead the workshop titled "How to Inspire, Motivate and Communicate with Your Volunteers in Ways that Cost Nothing," sharing strategies for leveraging purpose to drive engagement, among other invaluable techniques for nonprofit success with attendees who are seeking to build strong connected teams, as per a recent press release by Maui County.
Lori Tsuhako, the County Department of Human Concerns Director, emphasized the importance of volunteers in her statement, "Volunteers are the heart of our community," she explained, stressing that the workshop will equip leaders with the necessary tools to not only guide and inspire but also to care for their volunteers who are critical to the success of their missions, as noted by Maui County.
The workshop promises a unique blend of learning opportunities covering various aspects, such as how to communicate with clarity. The fact that it is free to participants is remarkable; however, those interested should register quickly, as space is limited to 25 attendees and the deadline is fast approaching on Sept. 25. Maui County nonprofit leaders and volunteer managers are urged to sign up early to secure their spot by visiting the county website. More details can be obtained by contacting the Volunteer Center directly at (808) 270-7150.
