Memphis residents are on alert after a recent armed robbery at the Marathon Gas Station on 3156 Mendenhall Road. The incident occurred at about 8:15 p.m. on August 31, when three male suspects approached a victim who was filling his tires with air. According to a report by the Memphis Police Department, the victim was robbed at gunpoint of his wallet and keys. The assailants were driving a stolen black 2020 Kia Optima, which has since been recovered by authorities.
As detailed by the Police Department, the first suspect sported a gray hoodie, pants of the same color, and white shoes, armed with a black handgun. His accomplice also wielded a black handgun and was wearing a black hoodie, complemented by gray pants and black shoes. The third suspect's presence was noted, though he never exited the vehicle during the altercation. Post-robbery, two culprits fled eastbound on Knight Arnold Road, leaving the local community to grapple with unease and concern for safety.
The Memphis Police have released descriptions of the suspects in hopes that the community can assist in their capture.
