Candente, a Houston Tex-Mex restaurant recognized by the Michelin Guide, is opening a second location in Bellaire. The restaurant has taken over the former Mandito's Tex-Mex on Bellaire Boulevard and plans to open before the end of the year, according to KHOU.

The new Bellaire location will follow the menu of its original Montrose restaurant, offering Tex-Mex dishes like fajitas and wood-fired seafood. Candente opened in 2019 and was one of the first seven Texas restaurants to be listed as Michelin Recommended.

Michael Sambrooks, owner of Candente, said, "We’re excited to bring Candente’s energy and authentic, handcrafted Tex-Mex menu to the Bellaire community," and "We can’t wait to bond over nachos and margaritas," as reported by Houston Chronicle. Candente is opening in Bellaire after Mandito's Tex-Mex closed its location there, though Mandito's still operates in Round Top and Katy. The restaurant will serve its wood-fired dishes and margaritas to the Bellaire community.
