In a tragic occurrence last night, a crash along Route 51 in Darlington Township, Beaver County, took the life of one man and left another seriously injured. According to WPXI, the accident took place close to Agway Drive around 11:43 p.m., where 58-year-old Anthony Pantaleo of Monaca lost control of his vehicle, resulting in it careening off the road and slamming into a fence, gas meter, and an embankment before overturning.
Pantaleo was declared deceased at the scene, while the unnamed passenger, a 63-year-old man, was swiftly transported to the hospital with injuries that are believed to be serious, as neither occupant was utilizing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, creating a situation that potentially exacerbated the outcome of this already dire incident.
WTAE confirmed that state police are still looking into the specific details of what caused the vehicle to lose control, leading to this lethal episode.
