On August 29, a patient suffered a cardiac arrest in the parking lot of a local medical office. Before EMS could arrive, Officer Tarczynski was at the scene, administering CPR and helping to sustain the patient's life. The department shared a post detailing the commendable response.
According to a letter of commendation highlighted by the Monroe Police Department, the officer's actions were instrumental in the patient's survival. “In this day and time, people are so quick to criticize police officers,” the letter acknowledged the harsh reality of public perception towards police work. The letter went on to reassure, “It is comforting for me to know that I work in a city where the police are so responsive and helpful.” Due to Officer Tarczynski's timely intervention, the patient ultimately was hospitalized and currently breathes on their own.
The Monroe Police Chief, Rhett Bolen, didn't hide his admiration for Officer Tarczynski's conduct under pressure. “This is a powerful reminder of the life-saving work our officers do every single day, often without recognition," Chief Bolen said, emphasizing the daily heroics that often go unnoticed.
