The burger scene in Pittsburgh's East End is about to get juicier with Moonlit Burgers setting its sights on a new location. According to a report by WPXI, the growing local chain is scheduled to open up shop in the space once occupied by Primanti Bros. at 5491 Penn Ave. in Garfield.

Since its inception as a pandemic pop-up, Moonlit Burgers has quickly managed to widely expand its footprint in the area, with locations now spanning from Dormont to Sewickley. "I lived two and half blocks away from where that was for about nine years, so I love the neighborhood over there," co-owner Mike McCoy stated, as per WPXI, sharing his personal connection to and affinity for the East End, which he believes to be densely populated with their target demographic.

Solidifying the brand's presence in the neighborhood, co-founder Mike McCoy spelled out his vision, as detailed by TribLIVE: "We’ve been looking out in this area for a while," said McCoy. "It’s kind of the perfect situation for us. We really love the East End." The specifics regarding an opening date have yet to be released, but the anticipation is already beginning to heat up amongst Pittsburgers keen on getting a bite of Moonlit's renowned smash burgers.
