A tragic collision in Long Beach on the evening of August 30 has claimed the life of a 37-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Roberto Barraza, after his motorcycle collided with an SUV. According to CBS News Los Angeles, Long Beach police responded to the scene at 11th Street and Redondo Avenue around 9:01 p.m., where the Long Beach Fire Department's attempts to save Barraza were unsuccessful, leading to him being pronounced dead at the site of the crash.

The involved vehicles in the incident were a 2010 KTM motorcycle that Barraza was operating, traveling southbound on Redondo Avenue, and a 2006 Toyota Sequoia driven by 33-year-old Frank Andrade Jr., which was heading eastbound on 11th Street. The crash occurred when the Sequoia crossed Redondo Avenue. The driver of the Sequoia stayed on the scene and was arrested on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter, as indicated in information obtained by KTLA.

Bail for Andrade was set at $101,781 after the arrest, while the investigation into impaired driving continued as a possible factor in the collision, as per the statement on the official Long Beach government website. The Long Beach Police Department is encouraging anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward and provide information to aid their ongoing investigation, with Detective Ashley Van Holland leading the inquiry.
