A motorcyclist has been seriously injured following a crash in Ka'a'awa, Windward Oahu, authorities confirmed. The accident took place yesterday afternoon around 3:25 p.m. along Kamehameha Highway, close to The Crouching Lion Restaurant, a noted landmark in the area.
The victim, a 47-year-old man, sustained significant injuries to his leg and foot during the unfortunate event. According to reports from Hawaii News Now, Honolulu Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the scene and provided the necessary treatment before transporting the injured motorcyclist to a nearby hospital. Notably, the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of a crash, which potentially exacerbated his injuries.
Following the incident, a portion of Kamehameha Highway was temporarily shut down in both directions to allow emergency crews to attend to the victim and facilitate an investigation into the cause of the crash. KITV has reported that the road has since been reopened, marking a return to normal traffic flow in the area.
