To address the growing concerns of urban traffic and pollution, the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) is proactively celebrating Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Week, alongside Nashville Connector. The initiative is geared towards enlightening commuters in Middle Tennessee about the diverse transportation alternatives at their disposal, emphasizing the significance of optimizing transport systems for better mobility and mitigating congestion and vehicular emissions.

Two key events are scheduled to anchor the week's activities, and both will take place at the Riverfront Station in downtown Nashville. On September 16, from 4 PM to 6 PM, the event "Chains, Trains, (No) Automobiles" will provide attendees a hands-on experience, including practicing the attachment of their bikes to a WeGo Bus and the WeGo Star Train. Moreover, attendees will gain insights into services provided by Nashville Connector, WeGo Public Transit, and Bike Fun. Subsequently, on September 18th, a Group Bike Ride Lunch & Learn is slated to run between 11 AM and 12:30 PM, offering free lunch with the availability of B-Cycle e-bikes upon request.

The aim to increase participation in TDM Week has been bolstered through a collaboration between NDOT and notable transport service providers Bird, Lime, and Spin. In a deal set to span from September 15th through 19th, riders can take advantage of two complimentary trips up to 10 minutes by employing the promo code TDMWEEK. This gesture incentivizes the community to engage more with sustainable transportation modes during the event.

In addition to the week's activities, the Nashville Connector is championing the Commuter Challenge throughout September, which steers residents and commuters towards adopting more eco-friendly transport alternatives. The challenge involves tracking sustainable trips using a commute app, potentially leading to winning an e-bike, e-scooter, and gift cards via a raffle, as stated by the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure. Alongside the grand prizes, a $20 e-gift card awaits users who log at least 10 sustainable trips every month through the app.
