The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT), in coordination with the Metro Beautification and Environment Commission, is distributing free daffodil bulbs for planting in public spaces such as parks, schools, and libraries. Individuals must obtain permission from the respective property before placing an order. Bulbs are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of one bag per request. Each bag contains 50 bulbs.
Residents wishing to participate in the fall bulb planting can simply complete the Fall Daffodil Bulb Planting Order Form and head down to the NDOT Warehouse for pickup. The bulbs are available for collection beginning tomorrow through October 3, every weekday between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. As detailed by the Metro Beautification and Environment Commission, the initiative is a part of their ongoing mission to ensure that Nashville remains a clean, attractive, and safe community.
In addition to beautification efforts, the commission coordinates with volunteers, civic departments, and community groups to support a range of environmental programs. These activities also include providing training and educational opportunities for residents and visitors in Davidson County.
The Commission, an extension of the Nashville Department of Transportation, is represented by members from the 35 Metro Council districts. To learn more about the commission's work or to order your bulbs, visit the NDOT announcement page.
