In an effort to raise the bar for children's health in Nevada County, local health officials and organizations are pulling up their virtual bootstraps with the roll out a new digital tool aimed squarely at boosting pediatric vaccine rates. Dubbed VaxFacts Nevada County, the newly minted website serves up a smorgasbord of information and resources, making it simpler for parents and guardians to wrap their heads around immunizations for the younger set.
The project, a feather in the cap of the Nevada County Immunization Coalition, brings together a coalition of heavy hitters, including Partnership HealthPlan of California, Chapa De Indian Health, and the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools, among others—each playing their part to spread the word about the importance of vaccines. Now, with this online platform, they're putting that mission into hyperdrive, packed with all kinds of vaccine information, including immunization schedules, factual debunking, and local clinic locations. They’re not pulling any punches in the fight to keep kids safe and healthy.
Key features of the informative hub, as stated in a previous release from Nevada County's announcement, walk site visitors through the nuts and bolts of vaccine science and its critical role in community health; it is a one-stop shop for those wading through the immunization process or grappling with its misconceptions. Those looking to pin down where to get their children vaccinated can also use the site to locate nearby providers.
