Motorists maneuvering through The Plains in Ohio need to stay alert as they'll be encountering new traffic patterns due to the ongoing construction at one of the city's key intersections. The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Southeastern Ohio District 10 has implemented changes around the roundabout construction site at the intersection of U.S. 33 and SR 682.
The most notable change, announced by ODOT, is that the north roundabout has opened to its final configuration as of the social media update. Nevertheless, work isn't quite finished. The truck apron and concrete median islands remain on the construction docket. Drivers should expect these surroundings to still be a hub of activity as workers lay the finishing touches.
In addition, the south roundabout exhibits a partial opening, with northbound traffic on SR 682 being rerouted through it. However, those heading southbound will find themselves tethered to remnants of the original alignment, at least for the time being. The agency affirmed that the southern infrastructure is still under wraps, with a section remaining in the works..
