The Oklahoma Department of Transportation will begin resurfacing U.S. Highway 77 in Norman on Sunday. The project covers a 6.6-mile stretch including portions of 12th Avenue East, Tecumseh Road, and Flood Avenue, from Cedar Creek Drive north of Classen Boulevard to Interstate 35, as per the City of Norman. Contractor TJ Campbell Construction Company will perform milling, overlaying, and pavement marking.
Work will take place at night from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, to reduce daytime traffic impacts. Drivers should expect intermittent lane closures and uneven pavement and are advised to consider alternate routes during the 60-day project.
Traffic updates and information will be available through official city channels. For additional details, contact ODOT’s Purcell Resident Engineer, Preston Hiemstra, at (405) 527-5569 or [email protected].
