A mother in north Harris County has been accused of shooting her 13-year-old son during a dispute at their home. The incident happened on Ranch Oak Drive in the Remington Ranch area. Deputies responded after a 5:20 p.m. call about a fight that escalated to gunfire, followed by another call confirming the teenager had been shot, as reported by Click2Houston.
Harris County Pct. 4 constables found a young boy with a gunshot wound when they arrived at the scene. He was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition, according to ABC13. The boy’s mother was taken into custody and is facing charges. Senior officer Cpt. Juan Flores of Pct. 4 said this was not the first time law enforcement had responded to disturbances at the home between the mother and son. No other family members were injured.
A mother has been charged with aggravated assault against a family member after her son was shot. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted the charges, and she is being held at the Harris County Jail. Authorities are still investigating the incident while the boy recovers.
