Early Friday morning, residents of a Northridge apartment building were forced to evacuate as smoke was seen pouring from a second-story unit. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the call shortly after 3 a.m. in the 19000 block of West Parthenia Street, with firefighters arriving to find a garden-style apartment building aflame, KTLA reported.
Upon their arrival, thick smoke was venting from the window of the burning unit, signaling trouble that had awakened the quiet predawn streets. In 14 minutes, the firefighters managed to extinguish the fire, as noted in a statement made by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
While battling the flames successfully, all of the apartment’s occupants were displaced due to the incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident, as per the LAFD alert.
