Following a reported stabbing incident near the Circle K Gas Station in Novato, the local Police Department has confirmed the arrest of 38-year-old resident Anthony Pacheco. The altercation took place last Wednesday night around 9 pm at 375 Ignacio Blvd, where a 31-year-old man sustained a superficial stab wound after witnessing an argument and subsequently being challenged and attacked by Pacheco.
According to a social media post by the Novato Police Department, following the incident, officers responded swiftly and were able to locate Pacheco within ten minutes of broadcasting his description via police radio. Attempting to initially flee, Pacheco eventually surrendered to authorities after they set up a perimeter around an apartment he entered at 551 Alameda Del Prado. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
The victim, who was administered medical aid at the scene, had reportedly seen Pacheco arguing with a woman, attracting Pacheco's attention and aggression. Pacheco initiated a fight, and when the bystander tried to escape, he was pursued and stabbed by the assailant. Fortunately, the wound was described as minor, allowing for the victim to be released on site.
Pacheco, now in custody, faces charges for assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, and a probation violation. In the wake of this event, the Novato Police Department has expressed gratitude towards the support and patience of the local community, especially the neighbors of Alameda Del Prado. They have also extended their appreciation for the assistance of the Marin County Sheriff’s Office in the apprehension.
