The NYPD is seeking the public's assistance in locating a suspect connected to a stabbing incident on the No. 7 train in Queens. According to ABC7NY, the attack occurred on Sunday, around 11:30 p.m., when a 25-year-old male victim was approached from behind and stabbed multiple times in the back with an unknown sharp object.
The NYPD has released a surveillance image to help quickly identify the suspect involved. Described as a male with a slim build, approximately 20 to 25 years old, he was last seen wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt with "Champion" written in white letters, grey sweatpants, and black sneakers.
Officers responded to the scene, and the victim was promptly taken to New York Presbyterian/Queens Hospital in critical condition. The NYPD Crime Stoppers took to social media to request information, stating, "On Sunday, September 21st, 2025, at approximately 11:34 PM, the victim, a 25-year-old male was on board a southbound 7 train when an unidentified individual approached him from behind and stabbed him multiple times in the back with an unknown sharp object." Their plea for leads was shared alongside the surveillance image of the suspect on the NYPD Crimestoppers Facebook page.
The police are now actively urging anyone with information to come forward. They are specifically making it a point to widely encourage members of the community to assist in the case by calling the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or for Spanish speakers, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
