A fatal shooting occurred near a South Sacramento liquor store yesterday morning, leading to the death of one man and the detention of two suspects. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office reports that the altercation began around 8:15 a.m. on the 1600 block of Franklin Boulevard, not far from the intersection with 44th Avenue. Despite immediate CPR efforts at the scene, the victim succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to UC Davis Medical Center, as reported by ABC 10.
Initial inquiries suggest the violence stemmed from a confrontation between two customers at the liquor store. Yet, it remains unclear as to precisely occur whether the shooting inside or outside of the establishment. A vehicle described as having "a tire on top of the vehicle" was seen nearby the incident and was later associated with the suspects, according to ABC 10. Law enforcement apprehended two men under suspicion of involvement in the shooting.
The names of the victim and suspects have not been released. The Sheriff's Office believes everyone involved is in custody and says there is no ongoing threat to the community. Details about the motive and events leading to the shooting are being withheld while the investigation continues, as mentioned by CBS Sacramento.
