Last week, participants of the Citizen's Academy in Ozaukee County received a hands-on experience that extended beyond the classroom, engaging with the Emergency Management Division of the Sheriff’s Office in a rather unconventional setting. According to a post on the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, attendees were treated to a boat ride on Lake Michigan, where they could observe local law enforcement in action and gain insights into the crucial tasks performed by the team.

While some attendees were making ripples on Lake Michigan, the technology on land drew considerable attention as well. Lieutenant Airaudi took the helm, when it came to showcasing the advanced tech at the Sheriff's Office disposal, namely their drone operations. "Lieutenant Airaudi provided a demonstration of the Sheriff’s Office drones and explained their vital role in investigations, negotiations, and locating missing individuals," the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office's post detailed.

The Sheriff’s Office recently conducted a demonstration of drone technology, showcasing its capabilities to community members. Participants observed how drones can be used in various operations, including investigations and search and rescue missions. The event highlighted the department’s ongoing efforts to integrate technology into public safety practices.

The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office highlighted its use of technology during a recent Citizen’s Academy event, giving participants the chance to see how drones and the Emergency Management Team support public safety operations. "We are truly grateful for the tools and resources available to our agency, and it was eye-opening for participants to see firsthand how our Drones and Emergency Management Team make a difference in keeping our community safe," the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office stated. The demonstration was part of the Citizen’s Academy, which is designed to give residents a closer look at law enforcement practices and resources.
