
A devastating incident occurred last night on State Road 50 in Christmas, where a 32-year-old Panama City man was struck by a pickup truck and killed. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the crash happened around 10 p.m., west of Hodges Boulevard on S.R. 50. ClickOrlando specified that the man was walking north, endeavoring to cross the westbound lanes when the incident happened.
The Florida Highway Patrol stated that the pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk during the crash. The victim entered the truck's direct path, leading to the fatal collision. Driving the vehicle was a 20-year-old Orlando man who struck the pedestrian and was reported not to have sustained injuries in the event.
Further details released by WFTV provide that the FHP responded posthaste to the incident, which took place on East Colonial Drive near Hodges Boulevard. The vehicle involved was identified as a GMC Sierra pickup, traveling westbound when it hit the man in the inside lane of the road.
