
A somber atmosphere hangs over Petaluma after a serious collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian occurred yesterday. According to the Petaluma Police Department, the accident happened around 7:50 PM at North McDowell Blvd. and Redwood Way.
Responding immediately were officers from the Petaluma Police Department alongside the Petaluma Fire Department who arrived to find the injured pedestrian and the vehicle involved in the incident, the driver was still present and the pedestrian had not moved from where they lay injured on the road; the first responders quickly acted to assist. The Pedestrian was subsequently transported to a local hospital. Still, the current state of their injuries has not been disclosed. At the same time, the driver is said to be cooperating with the ongoing investigation; at this point, neither drugs nor alcohol is thought to be a contributing factor.
The authorities are now appealing for witnesses and have asked anyone with information about the collision to contact Officer Schott at 707-778-4598.
