A Pinellas County school bus driver has been arrested following an investigation into child pornography offenses. Donte Burney, 35, was taken into custody by detectives from the Crimes Against Children Unit after reports of child pornography being accessed and shared online.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, the images involved children between the ages of one and eleven years. Yesterday, Burney was charged with 20 counts of possession of child pornography.
Following his arrest, Burney was booked into the Pinellas County Jail. Detectives continue to investigate the case. Pinellas County Schools officials have not provided details regarding Burney’s employment status and have directed inquiries to the school district.
