The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has confirmed the body found in the front trunk of an impounded Tesla is 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, who went missing from Lake Elsinore in April 2024. The Tesla is registered to singer David Anthony Burke, known as d4vd, whose hits include “Here with Me” and “Romantic Homicide,” according to Click2Houston. The cause of death is not yet determined.
Celeste Rivas was last seen running away several times before her final disappearance in April 2024. Her body was later found in a bag inside the front trunk of an abandoned Tesla near Mansfield Avenue and Romaine Street in Hollywood. The remains were decomposed, and her cause of death is listed as "deferred." Police were led to the car after a foul odor was reported, and the Tesla had been at a tow yard for two days, as per ABC 13. Rivas had a "Shhh..." tattoo on her inner finger, similar to one linked to singer D4vd, though KPRC 2 reported this has not been verified. The night after the discovery, LAPD investigators searched a home on Doheny Place and took a computer and other items, but the reason was not disclosed.
Witnesses in Hollywood saw a Tesla registered to singer D4vd near a house later searched by police and at other locations on the street. Rivas, who was found wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow bracelet, and stud earrings, was discovered nearby, as mentioned by ABC 13. Authorities have not confirmed any connection between her death and D4vd but plan to interview him and others. D4vd canceled a show in Seattle after the investigation was announced, with his next show scheduled in Los Angeles. Neither he nor his representatives have commented.
