Thousands of residents in Placer County were left without electricity early this morning after a widespread power outage. The Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) reported at approximately 6:16 a.m. that 5,039 customers had been affected in the Rocklin, Lincoln, and Loomis areas.
According to information obtained by KCRA, the majority of these residents saw their service restored by 9:14 a.m., with the remaining outages expected to be rectified by around 10:45 a.m.
The power failure extended its reach to key areas including the Catta Verdera Country Club, Coyote Pond Park, Pleasant Grove Creek, Sierra College Boulevard, and Antelope Creek. Although the exact cause of the outage has not yet been determined at this time, PG&E crews were immediately deployed to evaluate the electrical system and seek out damaged areas, a process detailed by FOX40.
