Yesterday, a potentially devastating incident was narrowly averted at Fairfield High School. The Fairfield Police Department reported on their Facebook page that officers responded to a call regarding an after-school fight that escalated into gunfire in the school parking lot at approximately 3:34 PM.
Officials stated that three officers arrived at the scene within 60 seconds of the dispatch call, followed by additional law enforcement to secure the campus perimeter. The initial probe by police reveals that despite the discharge of at least one bullet at an occupied vehicle, connected to the altercation, no injuries from the gunfire have been reported at this time.
The situation at Fairfield High is now under control, with police maintaining a presence to ensure the safety of students and faculty.
