In a social media post earlier this week, the Raleigh Police Department announced that it had hosted the FBI-LEEDA Media and Public Relations course. The Raleigh Police Department's post congratulated participants on completing the training, which aims to fortify law enforcement leadership with advanced skills in communication and bridge-building tactics within the community.
The department noted that the program is designed "to strengthen communication, transparency, and trust" between the police force and the residents theyserve. The Raleigh Police Department also extended thanks to the FBI-LEEDA team for their expertise, and for bringing along their service dog named Cash, who seemed to be a hit among the attendees.
Courses that focus on community engagement are becoming more relevant as interactions between the public and law enforcement continue to shape discussions on policing and crime prevention. These programs aim to strengthen communication and build collaboration between officers and the communities they serve.
