Budget and Management Services (BMS) is opening the floor between Oct. 1 and Oct. 16 for you to influence next year's fiscal planning. According to an announcement on the City of Raleigh's official website, a series of listening sessions across different community centers and a virtual session via Zoom are on the calendar for public input on the fiscal year 2027 budget.
Those preferring a face-to-screen interaction can join the virtual discussion on October 15, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. by registering to receive a Zoom link the day before the session. As for in-person meetings, they’re slated across diverse venues, kicking off at Chavis Community Center on October 1. While registration isn't necessary for in-person sessions, it’s suggested for those who need a friendly email reminder or require free childcare and language interpretation services. Let's not forget the "Budget and Brews" affair, mixing finance with pleasure, complete with gratis pizza at State of Beer on October 16. Remember, plan to drop by just one so everyone gets a turn at the mic.
Reaching beyond the typical town hall, BMS is collaborating with the Raleigh Teen Council and The Boys and Girls Club of Wake County to include younger voices and families in the fiscal dialogue.
