A suspect with a history of school burglaries in Murrieta was once again taken into custody earlier this week. The crime took place at Shivela Middle School, where the suspected burglar allegedly forced entry and made away with various items. Community Policing Team (CPT) officers, called to investigate by a school resource officer, quickly identified the suspect as Marice Reid, who had already been arrested before for similar crimes at another local school. Reid, who is described as a "local transient," was slated to make a court appearance for previous charges. An Instagram post by the Murrieta Police Department stated, "Maybe the 3rd time is the charm?" noting Reid's repeat offenses.
Upon his arrest, Reid reportedly admitted to the break-in and the theft during a police interview. Police officers managed to recover all of the stolen items at his encampment, ensuring a swift resolution to the case, as per CBS News.
