A routine traffic stop on the 15200 block of Mason Road led deputies to discover stolen mail and checks. The passenger, Dustin James, was found in possession of mail that did not belong to him, as reported by the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
A suspect was found with a makeshift mailbox key and crystal methamphetamine. He admitted to stealing mail from residents in the Spring Branch area, indicating multiple targeted thefts, as stated by the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
"Dustin James was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. His bond was set at $20,000.00 out of the 179th District Court. Additional charges are pending further investigation," according to the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 on their Facebook page. The case involves mail theft, which can lead to financial and identity loss for victims.
