
In Rowan County, a missing 16-year-old was found in a human trafficking network, resulting in the arrest of ten people. According to WSOC-TV, one suspect, Kelton Isiah Sturdivant, was charged with promoting prostitution of a minor, second-degree kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office led the operation, which involved a teen reported missing since March to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police. WBTV reported that Sheriff Allen expressed pride in the investigators’ work during an interview.
Sturdivant is being held on a $325,000 bond. WCNC noted that the teen was initially reported missing in Charlotte before being found in Rowan County.
