An Uber driver in Sacramento is being hailed for her level-headed response when she discovered one of her passengers carrying a rifle. The incident unfolded near the 2300 block of Arden Way yesterday afternoon. The driver, who has not been identified, sensed the danger after noticing the weapon and devised a plan to safely alert the authorities.
According to ABC10, the driver came up with an excuse to quickly but calmly stop at a nearby business. This quick thinking allowed her to exit her vehicle and find someone to call 911 without arousing suspicion. Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputies arrived shortly after to handle the potentially volatile situation.
Four passengers were detained by deputies once they arrived on the scene, but the focus was on a 17-year-old boy found in possession of a loaded rifle with a high-capacity magazine. A subsequent records check revealed that the teen was already on juvenile probation, as reported by FOX40. The teen was taken into custody and booked at Sacramento County Juvenile Hall.
