If you've flown through San Antonio International Airport (SAT) recently and felt your experience was surprisingly smooth, you're not alone. According to a San Antonio government news release, a recent study released by J.D. Power, SAT now ranks as the #12 best large airport in North America, which is a significant leap from its previous 18th position in 2024.
The J.D. Power 2025 North American Airport Satisfaction Study, which took the pulse of over 30,000 North American travelers from July 2024 to July 2025, measured the satisfaction across a spectrum of variables. This resulted in SAT tying with the likes of Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and San Jose International Airport, both of them earning a score of 650 out of 1,000, when surveyed travelers were asked about their ease of travel through the airports, trusting the airport, terminal facilities, and even down to their staff and the food, beverage, and retail options on offer.
Director of Airports for the City of San Antonio Aviation Department, Jesus Saenz, shared some prideful words about the achievement. "This recognition reflects the hard work and commitment of our SAT team, who work around the clock to provide a welcoming, efficient, and elevated travel experience," Saenz said, as reported by a San Antonio government news release.
