A violent episode unfolded late last night on the west side of San Antonio, where a man is accused of attacking his girlfriend with a box cutter. FOX San Antonio reports that during a confrontation occurring around 10:30 p.m. at a desolate parking lot of a shuttered gas station off Marbach Road near Southwest Loop 410, the man allegedly used the sharp tool to injure his partner's foot.
According to the brief given by the police, found in a nearby closed down Chevron store, the pair engaged in a heated argument which escalated when the suspect, described as being in his 20s, produced a box cutter, slashing the woman’s foot. The authorities have not disclosed the reason that led the couple to the abandoned location, as noted by KENS 5.
Following the attack, the man fled the scene, leaving the injured woman behind. First responders attended to her on the scene before transporting her to the hospital. Although she sustained a cut to her foot, her injuries are non-life-threatening, and she is expected to make a full recovery. As the search for the assailant continues, officers are on the lookout for a black 4-door car the boyfriend supposedly made his getaway in.
As this story is developing, law enforcement urges the public to come forward with any information that might lead to the apprehension of the perpetrator. Anyone with knowledge about the incident is encouraged to reach out to SAPD, hinting that any detail, no matter how small, may be critical in the ongoing investigation.
