The Texas Department of Public Safety has recently updated its Most Wanted Sex Offenders List, including San Antonio resident John Lynch Goodwin, 65. Goodwin, now one of the state's top ten most wanted sex offenders, has a warrant out for his arrest in Bexar County since March 2025 for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements, KSAT reports.
An additional warrant for Goodwin's arrest was issued in October 2024 by the Edinburg Police Department for unlawful possession of synthetic marijuana, according to Fox San Antonio. The 65-year-old has a history of criminal activities dating back to 1988 when he was sentenced to 20 years for the aggravated sexual assault of two underage girls. Twelve years after his release, he faced another conviction in 2020 and served five additional years for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
Goodwin was last released from prison in April 2024. The Texas Department of Public Safety describes him as 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with tattoos on both arms, his face, cheek, back, left finger, right thigh, and chest. Anyone with knowledge about his whereabouts could receive a reward of up to $5,000. Tips can be submitted anonymously through the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-8477 or via the DPS website and Facebook page.
The public can assist by remaining vigilant and reporting any sightings or information to authorities. Cooperation with the Texas Crime Stoppers aims to help law enforcement track down the fugitive and hold him accountable for his violations.
