A 41-year-old man was shot and killed by San Antonio Police after a road rage incident. He fired a shotgun into the air and pointed it at officers near the 800 block of North Cherry Street. Two officers fired at him in his backyard, and no one else was injured, according to KTSA.
The man’s identity has not been released, but police said there were past disturbance calls at his home. They are working with the other drivers involved in the road rage incident. Another officer-involved shooting recently happened at the Knights Inn motel. "The neighborhood was swarmed with police," neighbor Jesse King said. Cindy said, "There's always shootings," and Evelyn added, "There's crime everywhere," as reported by KSAT.
Neighbors discussed safety and suggested measures like gun buybacks and more patrolling. KSAT showed there were seven 911 calls to the man's home since January 1, with at least two linked to the incident. Ryan Burton said, "From a safety perspective, I always feel very safe down here." The San Antonio Police Department investigation is ongoing.
