Shoppers at Scottsdale Fashion Square can anticipate a refreshed retail experience as the mall embarks on a new round of renovations. Macerich Co., the powerhouse behind the luxury retail center, has disclosed plans to upgrade the mall's Palm Court. This renovation follows a series of enhancements aimed at elevating shopper satisfaction, with construction to start promptly in early 2026, as ABC15 reported.
Among the proposed changes is the addition of the Edo Japanese Grill to the food lineup, a move set to diversify the culinary palette available to visitors. "Scottsdale Fashion Square is a consistent leader in our portfolio and we're committed to continuing to raise the bar for shoppers and retailers alike," Kim Choukalas, Macerich's senior vice president of leasing, told AZ Big Media. The indoor updates aim to seamlessly blend modern aesthetics within the existing luxury environment of the mall.
The renovation intends to enhance not just the dining experience, but the overall ambiance of the Palm Court. Expect to see improved lighting, more spacious seating areas, and an ambiance lifted by lush landscaping and premium finishes. All these touches are designed to create a more cohesive and enjoyable shopping environment.
Despite the scale of the upcoming project, retailers and restaurants are expected to continue operating as usual, with the promise that shopper impact will be minimal. The renovation will introduce a dynamic three-sided digital display to add a visually striking accent to the central court. "While our mix of market-exclusive retailers and top-performing brands continues to draw shoppers to the center, we recognize that an important part of the experience is having a comfortable place to congregate," Choukalas explained in a statement obtained by AZ Big Media.
Macerich has solidified its stature in Arizona's retail landscape, with Scottsdale Fashion Square being just one jewel in its crown of over 7 million square feet of retail space across the Phoenix metro area. The company's portfolio in the state boasts other prime shopping centers such as Arrowhead Towne Center, Chandler Fashion Center, and Kierland Commons.
