A woman in her 60s is currently fighting for her life after being found unresponsive in the waters off Oahu's North Shore, a popular yet sometimes treacherous destination for swimmers and snorkelers alike. At approximately 3:15 p.m. yesterday, Honolulu Emergency Medical Services was called to Three Tables Beach, where the woman, initially out for an afternoon swim with her group, had mysteriously gone unresponsive upon reboarding their boat.
As reported by KITV, the group, witnessing her sudden lack of response, quickly brought her back to the shore. However, it was the EMS that, after treating her on the scene, promptly rushed her to the nearest emergency room in a condition described as critical. Believed to be 66-year-old, further details on her identity and current health status remain undisclosed.
According to information obtained by Hawaii News Now, the woman received CPR prior to the arrival of EMS personnel. Once on the scene, responders administered advanced life support before transporting her to the hospital.
