Manuel Albert Aragon-Hernandez, a 39-year-old Mexican national with previous felony convictions, was sentenced to 44 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to illegally reentering the United States. Aragon-Hernandez, in custody since 2023 for drug offenses, was sentenced to 44 months after firing a weapon while intoxicated. He was first deported on September 14, 2010, and returned illegally three times. He has prior convictions for theft, providing false information to police, and drug possession. After his last illegal entry, he was stopped for speeding and found with methamphetamine and marijuana before being taken into custody by immigration authorities on April 2, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Aragon-Hernandez was sentenced under the Department of Justice’s Operation Take Back America, a nationwide effort targeting illegal immigration and criminal organizations. He will remain in custody until his transfer to a federal prison.
